Berlin - It was an evening that promised a hatful of goals, but in the end one effort apiece was all Hertha Berlin and 1899 Hoffenheim could muster in the capital.

Hertha Berlin

The two sides ultimately seemed happy with the point, though, as both Hertha and Hoffenheim maintained their respective league positions (10th and 9th) on 37 points, Markus Gisdol's men continuing to hold a slight edge thanks to their superior goal difference.

bundesliga.com rounds up the post-match reaction...

We're happy with the point, but we had chances to win it and it would have been great if we'd taken just one of them. We were more aggressive today and I think you saw that we played with passion and tried hard for the whole match, which hasn't always been the case recently.

We didn't win, and we were at home, but I think we played very well and we're happy with the point. It was a really exciting game, both teams tried to attack and we knew Hoffenheim would be dangerous, so we're satisfied.

Eugen Polanski:[Koen] Casteels's injury made things difficult, but we had to carry on. It wasn't easy for us. I'm trying to grab a few more goals before the end of the season. Both teams played well and we could have won it, but we'll take the point.

Sejad Salihovic: It was a difficult situation for us with the injury to Casteels, but we fought well. Hertha played well and we knew it would be tough. I probably should have taken the chance I had, but 1-1 is a fair result, I think.
