Stuttgart - Cautious optimism was the pervading sentiment on both sides of the fence following Borussia Dortmund's 3-2 win over VfB Stuttgart on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund

bundesliga.com rounds up the post-match reaction...

Mats Hummels: We didn't play that badly in the first 20 minutes, but we did give them three chances and they scored two goals that were far too easy. After that we controlled the game completely, though, and they didn't create much. I think we deserved to win. We want to play against Real Madrid like we did today after the 25th minute. We'll try to stay compact and hit them on the counter.

VfB Stuttgart

Ibrahima Traore: It’s really disappointing that we gave away a 2-0 lead, especially in our position. We played well, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough. We just have to keep going and make sure we beat Freiburg.

Sven Ulreich: It seems like fate doesn’t want us to win games like these. We give away a penalty and go down to ten men; it’s like we’re jinxed. It’s a terrible day for us, but we have to keep fighting, now more than ever.

Georg Niedermeier: Going down to ten men was tough for us, but we still had a chance to equalise in the last minute. We just have to take the positives, though, even from a game like this. We gave a very good team a really good game. If we can do that in the next few games, we can get out of trouble.
