Gelsenkirchen - Post-match sentiments couldn't have been much further removed after FC Schalke 04 eased to a 2-0 win over a Hertha Berlin outfit now without a win in their last six matches on Friday.

FC Schalke 04

bundesliga.com rounds up the reaction from the Veltins Arena...

Max Meyer: We've played four games in ten days so it's good to win. We scored at the perfect time in the second half. Bayern are on another level, that's clear, but everyone at Schalke wants to finish above Dortmund, so second place is our target.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: It was great to score so soon after half-time, but it was a team effort. We played really well. I just try to do my job: score goals and make assists. We're playing very well and now we can watch what Borussia Dortmund do. We have a lot of great young players, but I feel pretty young too. It's great for the club, the fans and the team.

Kaan Ayhan: We were all a bit tired after all the games we've had. I was happy to take that free kick early on. We might get a few days' rest now so we can be ready for the next games.

Hertha Berlin

Sebastian Langkamp: We gave the first goal away. After that we played better but we conceded the second at a very bad time. The belief is still there in the team, but we're in a rut right now. It will be tough against Hoffenheim too.

Marcel Ndjeng: We didn't make the most of our chances, which was frustrating. The second goal was also a real killer for us. We're in a difficult phase now, but we just need to keep working. We need to be stronger defensively.
