Stuttgart - Germany head coach Joachim Löw will have to do without Hamburger SV forward for Wednesday's (kick-off 19:45 GMT/20:45 CET).

The 22-year-old had to return to Hamburg hours before the game after suffering a thigh injury, ruling him out for what would have been his first senior appearance for the three-time FIFA World Cup winners. "Lasogga is injured and won’t play,” confirmed team general manager Oliver Bierhoff.

It is yet unclear whether Lasogga, HSV's top goalscorer with Bundesliga 11 goals, will be available for the Red Shorts' upcoming home game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
