End of the line for van Marwijk at Hamburg
Hamburg - Hamburger SV have parted company with head coach Bert van Marwijk following Saturday's 4-2 loss at bottom-of-the-table Eintracht Braunschweig.
Short tenure
The club's four-member executive board broke the news shortly after the team arrived back in Hamburg from Lower Saxony on Saturday evening, in the wake of an unprecedented seventh-straight league defeat.
Van Marwijk had been in the post 143 days since succeeding Thorsten Fink, who was dismissed after Matchday 5. The Red Shorts' form initially picked up under the 61-year-old Dutch tactician, but the ongoing losing streak has seen the Bundesliga's only ever-present club drop into a direct relegation place.
