Munich - Swiss international has been ruled out of FC Bayern München's upcoming UEFA Champions League last 16 clash at Arsenal FC after injuring a thigh in the 4-0 win over SC Freiburg.

Two games out

The 22-year-old, who had netted a brace against the Black Forest club at the Allianz Arena, had to be withdrawn just after the hour-mark and was replaced by Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The former FC Basel 1893 man has now been diagnosed with a torn muscle in his right thigh, making him unavailable for Bayern's visit to the Emirates Stadium next Wednesday, as well as the Bundesliga Matchday 22 game away at Hannover 96 a week on Sunday.

The Reds are already without Franck Ribery and Holger Badstuber for the first-leg tie against the Gunners, who are currently second in the English Premier League.
