Frankfurt - Eintracht Frankfurt captain faces an indefinite spell on the sidelines after scans revealed the midfielder to have damaged a rib.

The 26-year-old sustained the injury during Frankfurt's 3-0 win over Eintracht Braunschweig on Matchday 20, with club medical officers Dr. Wulf Schwietzer and Dr. Christoph Seeger still to set a date for the Swiss international's comeback.

The news comes as an untimely blow for the Eagles, who face Borussia Dortmund for the second time in a week on Matchday 21 following Wednesday's in the DFB Cup, before contesting the first leg of their last-32 tie in the UEFA Europa League away to Portuguese outfit FC Porto on 20 February.
