Gelsenkirchen - FC Schalke 04 made it three wins out of three since the Bundesliga action got back underway, with a 2-0 home victory over Hannover 96 on Sunday.

Here's what some of those in thick of the action had to say about the hard-fought 90 minutes at the Veltins Arena:

FC Schalke 04

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: It was a really good performance from us in the first half. It was OK after the break as well, but we were more in command before it. Everyone wanted the ball and was looking for it - that’s very important. We scored two excellent goals - Sead (Kolasinac) did a great job laying on the first one. For the second, the angle was a bit tight for me and I knew Max was behind me so I let the ball through to him and he stuck it away really well.

Max Meyer: We played very well. It was a commanding performance and a great all-round team effort. We really put them under pressure and got stuck in. It was a well-earned win and I’m glad I was able to contribute to it with goal.

Hannover 96

Lars Stindl: We’re particularly dissatisfied with the first half. We weren’t as compact at the back or as creative up front as in the two previous games. At half time we resolved to haul ourselves back into it and we did then carve out one or two chances. If we’d managed to score it might have got a bit more interesting but all-in-all,Schalke were good value for the win.
