Munich - One of the main topics of discussion at the end of the first half of the Bundesliga season was the high number of goalkeeping mistakes.

Accomplished and consistent

Many names were dragged through the dirt with lots of heated discussion and criticism. One name was kept of any of those lists: Bernd Leno.

Leverkusen's goalkeeper was free of any doubt. After playing his best first half of a season in his Bundesliga career, his club had him to thank for their positive overall situation at the end of 2013.

Leno kept five clean sheets between August and December, conceding just 16 goals. Only FC Bayern München, who top practically all the charts, have conceded fewer than Leverkusen so far this season.

Although he already has 82 games under his belt, the 21-year-old former VfB Stuttgart custodian is far from his peak, yet he has already demonstrated himself to be the most accomplished and consistent goalkeeper in the Bundesliga in the first half of the 2013/14 season.
