Zurich, Switzerland - Former FC Bayern München coach Jupp Heynckes and current Borussia Dortmund supremo Jürgen Klopp are two of the three names in the running for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men’s Football award.

Champions League face-off

Sir Alex Ferguson, who retired in May after 27 years at the helm of Manchester United FC, completes the three-man shortlist.

Heynckes presided over an unprecedented quadruple in charge of FC Bayern in 2012/13, defeating Klopp's Dortmund side 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley in May.

The now-retired 68-year-old also coaxed outstanding performances from Franck Ribery, who is in the running for the FIFA Ballon d'Or. Both prizes will be awarded in Zurich, Switzerland on 13 January 2014.
