Nuremberg - 1. FC Nurnberg's Per Nilsson was disappointed his side couldn't build on the early lead they took in the 1-1 home draw against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Friday evening, whereas the visitor's Maxim Choupo-Moting thought his team might even have sneaked all three points after a late equaliser.

1. FC Nürnberg

bundesliga.com gauged the reactions on both sides of the fence after the match.

Per Nilsson: It was a difficult game and I thought we played really well, especially in the first half. We had a lot of chances and looked dangerous from set-pieces, but didn't score the second goal. There was always a danger that Mainz would come back and they did. 1-1 seems to be the story of our season. It's a shame because I thought we could win this.

Raphael Schäfer: It's very disappointing. We put so much into the game but forgot how to make it 2-0, then we conceded and in fact were a bit lucky not to lose. We're in a difficult situation but we just need to work hard, keep believing and get back on the horse. There's still massive belief that we can turn things around.

1. FSV Mainz 05

Maxim Choupo-Moting: We started the game poorly and Nürnberg were much better. But on the bench we felt the chances would come for us and they did, and towards the end we needed to take the opportunities we got. I missed one, and there was a header as well. There was more in the game for us but sometimes that's what happens in football.
