Mainz - Borussia Dortmund had Robert Lewandowski to thank for victory at Mainz, but it was anything but an easy ride for the Schwarz-Gelben.

Borussia Dortmund

bundesliga.com rounds up the post-match verdicts of those involved at the Coface Arena...

: It wasn't an easy game today. Mainz played really well and made life difficult for us. We weren't at our best either. At the end of the day the three points won are all that matter. After a game like that, it's especially pleasing to win. Of course I'm happy with my goals - everyone asks what's wrong when I don't score for a couple of games, but I know it's much more important to perform well out on the pitch. Part of my job is also to hold the balls up and bring my team-mates into the game.

: It has always been like this in Mainz - they're unbelievable when it comes to pressing. Every time we lost possession, they would double-up on us like there was no tomorrow. You've got to expect that. Games like these are only won through battling and not playing pretty football.

: The result is bad. We played well and can take positves from the game, but we deserved at least a point.

: We did a great job, won our tackles and picked up the second balls. The coach told us before the game that we should be brave going forward and we were. We have to take the positives from the match into our meeting with Nürnberg.

: That was our best match since the bad patch we went through with a lot of defeats. We didn't allow Dortmund many chances at all, that's something we can build on.
