Gelsenkirchen - There was more bad news on the injury front for FC Schalke 04, with midfielder facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after tearing the cruciate ligament in his right knee during training.

The diagnosis was confirmed after an MRI scan on Friday. Aogo, on loan at the Royal Blues from Bundesliga rivals Hamburger SV, is the latest in a long list of injuries for Schalke this season, with Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Marco Höger, Leon Goretzka, Christian Clemens, Kyriakos Papadopoulos and first-choice goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand all currently residing in the treatment room.
