Munich - Off the Ball, bundesliga.com’s latest feature, casts an eye over the weird, wonderful and sometimes controversial tales to have emerged from Germany's top flight in recent days.

Today, we take fashion tips from one of the Bundesliga's top Dutch stars, earmark Hannover 96's leading light for a career in diplomacy and check in with league leaders FC Bayern München at their Säbener Strasse training headquarters.

FC Schalke 04 striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar was snapped in his sunnies earlier today, looking rather cool it must be said. He's not on holiday, though. The Dutchman has actually been undergoing laser therapy as part of his rehabilitation programme to cure a troublesome knee injury suffered in the 4-0 defeat to VfL Wolfsburg on Matchday 2. He returned to team training in mid-October, but was unable to continue and has since gone down the surgery route. Huntelaar is unlikely to play again this calendar year.

Nothing gets the blood pumping quite like a football derby, but rather than fan the flames of excitement and regional pride, Hannover 96 have instead called for calm ahead of their showdown against Lower Saxony foes Eintracht Braunschweig, with captain Lars Stindl asking fans to "stay fair and keep the peace". Naturally, the club want the Reds faithful to enjoy the occasion, but felt it necessary to remind folk that "derbies are no place for hostilities, violence and pyrotechnics." Amen to that.

And finally, there was more good news for FC Bayern München today after Dutch flier Arjen Robben came through team training unscathed. The 29-year-old sat out yesterday's UEFA Champions League group win over FC Viktoria Plzen as well as the Matchday 11 trip to Sinsheim, but is now hopeful of returning to the fold for the forthcoming Bavarian derby with FC Augsburg. The players will have a day off tomorrow, before pressing on with their Matchday 12 preparations on Friday morning.
