Hanover - Hannover 96 forward came through his first team training session of the month on Wednesday and could yet be in the running for a place in die Roten’s squad for Saturday's trip to Borussia Dortmund.

Good timing

Senegal international Diouf has been sidelined since suffering a thigh muscle strain against Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the end of September.

With fellow frontman Didier Ya Konan likely to be out for the rest of the year following ankle ligament surgery, Hannover coach Mirko Slomka will be delighted to have his top scorer from last season back at the earliest opportunity.

Diouf chipped in with two goals and an assist as Hannover won their first three home games of the season, before spraining his ankle on international duty. The 25-year-old striker then picked up a thigh injury 19 minutes into his comeback at Leverkusen on Matchday 7.
