Mönchengladbach - Borussia Dortmund have been dealt a blow with the news that midfielder picked up an injury in the 2-0 loss at Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 8.

Injury list grows

Sahin had to be replaced by Koray Günter in the 89th minute at Borussia Park and following the game it was revealed that he had suffered a partial tear to ligaments in his right ankle, with chief medical officer Dr. Markus Braun diagnosing a period of up to three weeks out.

It comes as a blow for head coach Jürgen Klopp, who is already missing central midfielders Ilkay Gündogan and Sebastian Kehl with injury, although the former is making good progress after a back injury and could be fit after the upcoming international break.

Dortmund, having surrendered top spot in the table to FC Bayern München, resume their league campaign at home to Hannover 96 on 19 October, before travelling to Group F leaders Arsenal FC in the UEFA Champions League.
