Mönchengladbach - Borussia Mönchengladbach centre-back faces ten to twelve weeks out of action after suffering a shoulder injury in his side's 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

The 24-year-old fell awkwardly after an aerial duel with Robert Lewandowski in the 55th minute and was carried off on a stretcher. He was immediately taken to hospital, where doctors diagnosed the defender with a dislocated shoulder and fractured collarbone. Dominguez was operated on successfully on Saturday evening.

"Until now we hadn't had any serious injuries this season but unfortunately they're part and parcel of playing football," said Foals head coach Lucien Favre. "Alvaro will be missed, no question. His health is all that matters at the moment and we hope the recovers well so that he can return to us soon."
