Braunschweig - The VfB Stuttgart camp emerged from the Eintracht-Stadion on Sunday in no doubt they deserved to win, but for Braunschweig it was yet another bitter defeat.

VfB Stuttgart

bundesliga.com rounds up the thoughts of some of those involved...

Vedad Ibisevic: Of course we are really pleased. It wasn't easy in the first half, but we knew we'd have to fight and earn it. That's what happened and overall we deserved to win.

Christian Gentner: That was a really good away game for us. You need patience in these sorts of games. In the end, we put our stamp on the match. It's good we can steer close games like these in our favour. It's also nice that we won the game in midfield.

Ermin Bicakcic: We knew that VfB are dangerous from set pieces. I expected the ball to be delivered to the near post. We defended the space and then there was a clear push [from a Stuttgart player] with both hands.

Domi Kumbela: We tried to go about the game full of commitment from the start, put Stuttgart under pressure and attack. We succeeded and created good chances, but the opening goal wouldn't come. We conceded against the run of play and then it's difficult to turn the game against good teams like Stuttgart. Going 2-0 down broke our spirits. We have to take the blame for not scoring. I'm sorry for the fans that we didn't take any points from the game, but we have to move on.
