Gelsenkirchen - FC Schalke 04 have confirmed their intention of signing attacking midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng from Italian Serie A giants AC Milan.

The 26-year-old, brother of FC Bayern Munich defender , underwent a medical check with the Royal Blues on Wednesday morning.

Boateng moved to Milan in 2010, winning the league title in his first season there. He has previously laced his boots for Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth and Hertha Berlin.
