Stuttgart - VfB Stuttgart have announced they have parted company with head coach Bruno Labbadia with immediate effect. Labbadia's assistant Erdinc Sözer has also left the club.

The decision comes in the wake of VfB's poor start to the season, which included three straight defeats in the Bundesliga and a first leg loss to HNK Rijeka in their UEFA Europa League play-off.

The 47-year-old's final game in charge of the team was Matchday 3's 2-1 reverse away at FC Augsburg. A press conference has been scheduled for 15.00 CEST on Monday.
