Hilbert seals Leverkusen switch
Leverkusen - Bayer 04 Leverkusen have confirmed the signing of eight-time Germany international Roberto Hilbert from Turkish side Besiktas JK.
"More variety"
The new No14 put pen to paper on a two-year deal and joined in the club's training session on Friday morning. He will also form part of the entourage at Leverkusen's week-long training camp in Kaprun, Austria.
"I'm delighted the transfer went through," said the 28-year-old right-back, who won the Bundesliga title with VfB Stuttgart in 2007. "Leverkusen are a great club where I'll have the chance to show what I can do both in the Bundesliga and the Champions League."
Sporting director Rudi Völler also expressed his joy at sealing the club's seventh major summer signing: "Hilbert is aggressive, strong in the tackle and likes to get forward, which will give us more variety in attack."
