Braunschweig - Newly-promoted Eintracht Braunschweig have announced the signing of FC Augsburg striker . The 27-year-old, who scored eight goals in 32 appearances in a previous spell with the Lions during the 2007/08 season, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract lasting until 2016.

“Familiar face"

"It’s great to be back in Braunschweig," said Oehrl, who found the net five times in 44 top-flight outings for Augsburg. "When Eintracht made contact it quickly became clear to me that I’d love to return to the club. I’ve followed their progress closely over the past couple of years and am delighted to be able to play for the Lions in the Bundesliga.”

“In Torsten Oehrl we’re able to welcome back a familiar face,” said sporting director Marc Arnold at Friday’s press conference. “That was one of the main reasons for us pursuing the transfer. We know that he’s a strong, all-round attacking player and his character is completely compatible with the club. He also knows [head coach] Torsten Lieberknecht as well as some of our current squad members from his previous stint with Eintracht. Over the past few years he has proven his quality at both SV Werder Bremen and FC Augsburg.”
