Munich - FC Bayern Munich's Ukrainian midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk has confirmed that he will join former club Zenit St. Petersburg when his contract with the record titleholders expires at the end of the month.

Leaving on a high

The 34-year-old returns to the Russian club, from whom he joined the Bavarians in 2009 on a two-year contract.

Tymoshchuk celebrated a Bundesliga and DFB Cup double at the end of his first season with Bayern, and leaves off the back of a Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League treble having made 132 appearances for the record German champions.

The Ukraine's most-capped player's last outing was a fleeting one in Saturday’s in the DFB Cup final in Berlin. However, the bold and battling midfielder featured 16 times this season, contributing to Bayern’s historic treble achievement.
