Munich - Spanish head coach Pep Guardiola’s first official match in charge of FC Bayern Munich has been scheduled for 14 July 2013, after the German record title-holders announced they would be taking part in a benefit match in support of cash-strapped F.C. Hansa Rostock.

The ‘Ja zum FCH’ (‘Yes to FCH’) initiative, aimed at keeping Hansa Rostock afloat, has drawn support from fans, sponsors, companies and celebrities alike. Now FC Bayern have decided to aid the traditional club in their precarious situation by agreeing to take part in a ‘pro-bono’ pre-season friendly in the Hanseatic city.

The encounter (kick-off 15:30 CET) will not only feature all of the Bavarians’ regular stars, but also new head coach Guardiola, with Bayern set to travel north for a pre-season training camp on the Baltic coast.

Michael Dahlman, CEO of F.C. Hansa Rostock, was delighted to announce Bayern Munich involvement in the fixture. “The willingness of this world-renowned club to support us is nothing short of phenomenal. Despite their size and stature, FC Bayern Munich have managed to remain a family-oriented club with a real heart and soul.”
