Hamburg - FC St. Pauli head coach Michael Frontzeck has been released from hospital after undergoing a short operation on Wednesday morning following a triple rib fracture suffered in team training.

"I'm feeling rather well," the 48-year-old said. "I'm still taking painkillers but should be able to reduce the intake bit by bit. It should take ten to 14 days for me to be free of pain and under normal circumstances, I should return to training on Tuesday."

In any case, the former Borussia Mönchengladbach tactician hasn't lost his sense of humour: "If I've learnt one thing, then it's that I'm too old to play football. I'll leave that to the boys in future."
