Frankfurt - Borussia Mönchengladbach will be busy flying the Bundesliga flag in Dubai over the coming week at a training camp culminating in games against Hamburger SV at the "7he Sevens" Stadium on Wednesday, 9 January (kick-off 16:00 CET) and Eintracht Frankfurt at the same time and venue two days later.

Bundesliga abroad

A friendly meeting with a local United Arab Emirates outfit has also been pencilled in for Sunday, 6 January.

The Foals' Dubai training camp runs from 4 -12 January 2013 and is part of a long-term international marketing campaign by the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga and Dubai Sports Channel. As well as getting up to speed for the second half of the Bundesliga season, Gladbach will also be participating in a range of initiatives aimed at promoting the Bundesliga in the Middle East and North Africa. Partner broadcaster Dubai Sports Channel will televise the match against HSV live in 24 countries across the region.

Several clubs have acted as Bundesliga ambassadors since 2007, organising training camps and friendly matches abroad. Mönchengladbach are the latest to do so, following in the footsteps of SV Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV and FC Bayern Munich.

DFL Sports Enterprises, responsible for the international marketing of the Bundesliga, is working in conjunction with the sportsman media group, the intermediary for the Dubai Sports Channel in contract negotiations for the region.
