Eintracht Braunschweig narrowed the gap on fifth-placed VfL Bochum with an entertaining 3-2 win at the rewirpowerSTADION.
Missed penalties: Terodde (59', 90')
Red card: Decarli (88')
Simon Terodde struck twice for the hosts to cancel out Gerrit Holtmann's early opener in a fast-paced first half of end-to-end football which kept both sets of fans on the edge of their seats.
The second half topped the first for drama with a Felix Bastians own goal bringing Braunschweig back on terms. Terodde wasted the chance to complete his hat-trick and put Bochum back in front when his penalty was saved on the hour mark, before Orhan Ademi put the guests ahead.
Sauelo Decarli was sent off late on as he gave away the second penalty of the game, but Terodde again missed from the spot as Braunschweig held on for all three points.
