SpVgg Greuther Fürth 0-2 1. FC Heidenheim 1846

Goals: 0-1 Leipertz (6'), 0-2 Thomalla (57')

Heidenheim knew that they could overtake Fürth with a win, and they looked the better team for long periods in the opening 45 minutes. Frank Schmidt's took an early 1-0 lead when Marc Schnatterer got free on the right before spinning a wicked cross into the box and Leipertz took his season tally into double figures with a header from metres out.

Heidenheim doubled their advantage within the hour when Thomalla headed home Arne Feick's cross from the left, before the visitors saw out the match with all but Thomalla behind the ball to frustrate Die Kleeblätter and guarantee their first win in four games.
