FSV Frankfurt 1899 remain mired in trouble and just a point ahead of the relegation play-off spot after a 1-0 loss at SV Sandhausen 1916 on Sunday.

SV Sandhausen 1-0 FSV Frankfurt 1899

Goals: 1-0 Vollmann (59')

Frankfurt came into the game on the back of three successive losses, and although they were relatively untroubled in the opening half, their defence was breached when Korbinian Vollmann played a one-two and kept his composure to lash into the near post on the hour-mark. Falko Götz's side rarely looked like forcing an equaliser and now have three games remaining to retain their second-tier status, with 16th-placed TSV 1860 Munich and 17th-placed SC Paderborn 07 - both on 28 points - breathing down their necks.
