DSC Arminia Bielefeld registered their 12th stalemate of the season after a goalless draw against FC St. Pauli on Monday evening.

The home side, the draw specialists of the division by some distance, came into the game in hope of only a second home win of the season after beating Karlsruher SC on the previous matchday, and they looked the better side in the first half, with Pauli goalkeeper Robin Himmelmann producing a stunning double save to deny Christopher Nöthe and Christoph Hemlein.

The away side grew in stature after the break, but Ewald Lienen’s men struggled to find their usual attacking fluency and were the happier of the two sides at the final whistle. They remain in the hunt for promotion, although are now five points behind second-placed SC Freiburg, while Bielefeld stay 13th.
