1. FC Nürnberg 0-4 FC St. Pauli

Having lost to TSV 1860 Munich on Matchday 15, the hosts were looking keen to get back to winning ways from the off. Despite dominating possession and looking the more threatening side, however, it was Nürnberg who broke the deadlock at the Millerntor-Stadion, Niklas Füllkrug catching the promotion hopefuls cold before doubling the lead two minutes before the half-time.

Pauli remained the more dominant side after the break, missing several chances against a deep-lying Nürnberg hoping to beat their opponents on the break. That matchplan paid further dividends 53 minutes in, Tim Leibold all but sealing three points before Patrick Erras made it four with seven minutes on the clock.
