Fortuna Düsseldorf have parted ways with coach Frank Kramer after a poor start to the Bundesliga 2 season.

Kramer was appointed last summer, but after picking up just 13 points from his new club's first 15 games of the campaign, the former SpVgg Greuther Fürth boss was shown the door following Friday's 1-1 draw with MSV Duisburg that left Düsseldorf second-from-bottom of the table.

Kramer's assistant coach, Peter Hermann, will take charge of the team on a temporary basis.

With a squad featuring seasoned top-flight performers such as Karim Haggui, Alexander Madlung and Didier Ya Konan, Düsseldorf had been expected to challenge for promotion back to the Bundesliga this season.
