Sandhausen - SV Sandhausen’s fine start to the season continued apace with a 1-0 win at home to perennial promotion favourites 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

SV Sandhausen 1-0 1. FC Kaiserslautern

Kaiserslautern took the game to the home side, with Marcus Piossek and Marcel Gaus firing off a couple of warning shots early on. Sandhausen responded as Leart Paqarada and Jakub Kosecki warmed the palms of Marius Müller, before an own goal from Stipe Vucur put the hosts in front six minutes before the break.

Sandhausen did a good job at keeping the Red Devils at bay after the restart, although Philipp Klingmann’s sending off for two bookable offences made for a nervy finale. The result takes Alois Schwartz’s men up to third, with Kaiserslautern three points adrift of the promotion places in ninth.
