Darmstadt - TSV 1860 Munich’s winless run extended to seven games on Sunday afternoon after the Lions drew 1-1 away to promoted side SV Darmstadt 98 to remain in the bottom three.

A more positive result beckoned for the visitors, however, when they went in front through Jannik Bandowski. The youngster latched on to Guillermo Vallori’s pass as he ran into the box, held off a defender and slotted past goalkeeper Christian Mathenia at his near post. Just five minutes later league top scorer Rubin Okotie had a chance to double 1860’s lead from the penalty spot, but Mathenia easily saved his weak shot.

After the break Darmstadt were much the better side as they pushed for an equaliser, but were let down by poor finishing after creating several promising openings. Eventually their efforts were rewarded, though, with Leon Balogun scoring expertly from 16 yards out with a drilled shot on the swivel into the corner. The hosts looked the more likely side to grab a late winner, but there was to be no late drama as both teams had to be content with a point.
