Düsseldorf - FC Erzgebirge Aue picked up a first away win of the campaign courtesy of an impressive 3-2 success against promotion-chasing Fortuna Düsseldorf at the ESPRIT Arena.

After an enterprising start from the hosts, winter signing Bobby Wood opened his Aue account with the first goal on the quarter-hour mark. Despite Axel Bellinghausen equalising for Oliver Reck's side 11 minutes later, it was Aue who were threatening most and Wood soon scored his second of the game to put Aue back in front, before another winter signing, Stefan Mugosa, made it 3-1 ten minutes before half time.

Michael Liendl, Ben Halloran and Joel Pohjanpalo came close to reducing the arrears as the hosts totally dominated the second period, with nothing to show for their control until the 83rd minute when Liendl beat Martin Männel from the spot. Although Reck's side pushed for a late equaliser, it wasn't to be as Aue held on for a first away win of the season and moved out of the relegation zone.
