Heidenheim - SV Darmstadt 98 edged up to third in the Bundesliga 2 standings thanks to a hard-fought 1-1 draw at 1. FC Heidenheim.

Darmstadt's top scorer Dominik Stroh-Engel, who ended a five-game drought by scoring in the 3-0 win over Nürnberg last weekend, bagged his seventh of the season to put the visitors in front early on, but Heidenheim responded well, getting their reward when Smail Morabit volleyed in Philipp Heise's cross to level before half-time. A lively second half saw chances come and go at both ends with Florian Nierdelechner going closest for Heidenheim, but there were no further goals on the day. Darmstadt will arguably be the happier of the two teams with the point that makes it five obtained from their last three games.
