Bochum - VfL Bochum 1848 and Fortuna Düsseldorf shared the spoils after an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Rewirpowerstadion.

The hosts dominated the early stages and took a deserved lead inside a quarter of an hour when Timo Perthel waltzed through the visiting defence before setting up Michael Gregoritsch, who directed his header past former FC Bayern München keeper Michael Rensing for his first goal of the season.

Düsseldorf improved after the restart and levelled matters through Finland striker Joel Pohjanpalo after excellent work from Julian Schauerte. Australia international Ben Halloran could have won it for the visitors soon after, but the 22-year-old was thwarted by Michael Esser, who also saved Charlison Benschop's follow-up to preserve a point for his side.
