Hamburg - FC St. Pauli secured a first win of the season courtesy of a narrow 1-0 victory over Eintracht Braunschweig.

In a hard-fought game it was ultimately a set-piece that separated these two sides. A 15th minute corner to the far-post was hooked back into the middle by Florian Kringe and Lasse Sobiech was on hand to head home from the edge of the six-yard box. Chances, however, were at a premium, with both sides largely cancelling each other out.

Braunschweig's best opportunity to restore parity came on the hour mark as Hendrick Zuck raced through on the counter, but his shot was well-saved by Philipp Tschauner. The Pauli defence was able to hold solid for the remainder of the match and secure a much-needed three points.
