Aue - Following the club’s worst-ever start to a season, FC Erzgebirge Aue have parted ways with head coach Falko Götz with immediate effect.

The Violets currently prop up the Bundesliga 2 standings after losing all four of their opening fixtures in the 2014/15 campaign. Youth-team coaches Steffen Ziffert and Robin Lenk will take temporary control of first-team training while the hunt for a new head coach begins.

'Wasn't an easy decision'

“I was alarmed by our recent results,” said club president Lothar Lässig. “I talked to the team and others involved and had to make a decision. It wasn’t an easy one for me to make, but at the end of the day it’s not about feelings, but about making sure we stay in the division.”
