Fürth - SpVgg Greuther Fürth emerged comfortable 3-0 winners over FC St. Pauli Hamburg in Bundesliga 2's concluding Matchday 4 encounter.

Results elsewhere in the league meant that both sides had slipped into the bottom half of the table by kick-off, but it was Fürth who did all the pressing from the first whistle, with Kacper Przybylko and Zsolt Korcsmar on the scoresheet inside 23 minutes. St. Pauli, shocked by the quickfire double, struggled to live with Fürth's superior movement and were punished again seven minutes into the second period when Florian Trinks bent a free-kick into the top corner from 30 yards out.

The hosts were then content to allow St. Pauli unthreatening possession in the closing stages, having done their hard work earlier in the encounter. The result lifts Fürth to seventh, but St. Pauli drop to 14th place.
