Aalen - 1. FC Kaiserslautern extended their unbeaten start to the Bundesliga 2 season, but could only pick up a point in Aalen with a 2-2 draw.

The Red Devils underlined how serious they are about earning promotion this season with a dominant start to the game, crowned by a Kevin Stöger goal in the 15th minute. Karim Matmour played through Stöger, who celebrated his 21st birthday two days ago, and the youngster supplied a composed finish to give the visitors the lead.

Stöger was clearly buoyed by his strike, going close several times to making it two as the Red Devils looked to turn the screw. They paid for their profligacy, though, when Oliver Barth brought the hosts level after another wasteful miss by Srdjan Lakic. The visitors hit back almost immediately with Amin Younes crossing for Lakic to head them back in front, but a late penalty gave Aalen the chance to respond once more. Grech made no mistake from the spot, finding the back of the net from twelve yards to earn his side a point.
