Ingolstadt - FC Ingolstadt 04 claimed the Bavarian bragging rights after a 2-0 victory over SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

The visitors approached this Bavarian derby off the back of a 5-1 win over other Bavarian rivals 1. FC Nürnberg on Matchday 2. They settled much more quickly than an Ingolstadt side that had yet to win this season, with Tom Weilandt and Marco Stiepermann customarily tricky. Stefan Lex and Pascal Groß began to exert more influence from Ingolstadt’s midfield, however, as the half wore on to a goalless half-time.

Lex and Groß continued in the same vein after the break, creating chances for fellow midfielders Roger and Alfredo Morales, both of which were wasted. Fürth were then placed further under the cosh as Mathew Leckie converted after his solo run for the opening goal in the 62nd minute. Although Stiepermann tried to lead a response, it was all in vain when Leckie teed up Groß on the edge of the box. The midfielder's rasping low drive made it 2-0 and ensured the bragging rights remained with the Ingolstadt fans.

The result lifts their club to fifth, above Fürth, who drop to seventh.
