Düsseldorf - Karlsruher SC continued their unbeaten start to the season thanks to a deserved 2-0 victory away to Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors began in customary fashion, pressing their opponents high up the pitch in an effort to disrupt their rhythm and it was not long before their efforts paid off as Manuel Gulde was allowed a free header to nod home Sascha Traut’s corner from the left. Karlsruhe struggled to create any further chances before the break but their lead never looked in danger.

Düsseldorf improved after the interval but never looked like breaking through a resilient KSC backline, and the game was all but over midway through the second period when Reinhold Yabo finished smartly from inside the box to double the guests’ lead. The result was never in doubt thereafter, leaving the hosts with just two points to show for their efforts this term, while Karlsruhe moved joint-top of the standings.
