Bochum - Greuther Fürth were held to a 1-1 draw by VfL Bochum on Matchday 1 of the 2014/15 Bundesliga 2 season.

Fürth, who narrowly missed out on promotion last term, fell behind after 15 minutes when Simon Terodde capitalised on an error by Zsolt Korcsmar before slotting past Wolfgang Hesl. The visitors equalised just three minutes later, however, when Bochum right-back Stefano Celozzi played the ball straight to Kacper Przybylko, who calmly lifted the ball over the onrushing Andreas Luthe to restore parity.

Though chances were at a premium after half-time, Michael Gregoritsch could have snatched all three points for the hosts half way through the second period when the 20-year-old was played clean through on goal, but Hesl produced an outstanding double save to keep the score level and earn the visitors a deserved point.
