Darmstadt - DSC Arminia Bielefeld took a huge step towards securing their Bundesliga 2 safety with a 3-1 victory at third-tier SV Darmstadt 98.

Christian Müller gave the visitors the lead half way through the first half, before former Chelsea FC striker Ben Sahar doubled Bielefeld's advantage 12 minutes before the break, tapping into an empty net after Fabian Klos had lobbed the ball over onrushing Darmstadt keeper Jan Zimmerman.

Milan Ivana finished off a lovely move to give the hosts hope 20 minutes into the second half, but Arminia substitute Sebastian Hille sealed the win for the visitors late on with a powerful effort in off the bar. Darmstadt, who finished third in the Dritte Liga, must now score at least three goals at the Schüco Arena on Monday to stand any chance of achieving promotion to Bundesliga 2.
