Kaiserslautern - 1. FC Kaiserslautern ensured the race for the promotion play-off spot will go down to the final day after a comfortable 4-0 win over struggling SG Dynamo Dresden, who themselves remain 16th and in danger of the drop.

Lautern dominated throughout, taking the lead after just six minutes when the visitors’ Toni Leistner diverted an inswinging free-kick into his own net. The result was made safe after the break when Dresden's Vincenzo Grifo saw red for a professional foul on Karim Matmour, allowing Mohamadou Idrissou to convert the resulting penalty, with the Cameroonian adding a third with a late header. Kevin Stöger then rounded off the scoring with a sweet strike from distance.

Lautern remain three points behind third-placed Greuther Fürth but can still mathematically beat them to the promotion play-off spot on Matchday 34. However, to do so they need a high-scoring win away at Fortuna Düsseldorf on the final day and must hope that Fürth lose heavily at home to SV Sandhausen. Dresden, meanwhile, remain in 16th spot, a point ahead of DSC Arminia Bielefeld, whom they host in an all-or-nothing showdown at the Glücksgas Stadion next weekend.
