Karlsruhe - Karlsruher SC's faint hopes of promotion to the Bundesliga were ended after a 2-2 draw with Fortuna Düsseldorf at the Wildparkstadion.

The hosts were five points behind third-placed Greuther Fürth going into the game and retained a small chance of finishing in the relegation play-off spot, but they fell behind when Erwin Hoffer put Düsseldorf in front from a Tobias Levels cross. KSC levelled matters just four minutes later when Rouwen Hennings bundled in an equaliser from close range, before Fortuna retook the lead just before the stroke of half-time, Adam Bodzek heading in bravely from a Michael Liendl free-kick.

KSC again showed their resilience by equalising for a second time when Hennings fired in his tenth of the season from the penalty spot after Timm Golley had fouled Manuel Torres inside the box, but they couldn't find a winner, with Fürth's 6-0 victory at FC Energie Cottbus confirming that the Baden-Württemberg side will play in Bundesliga 2 next season.
