Munich - VfL Bochum will be plying their trade in Bundesliga 2 in the 2014/15 season despite succumbing to a 2-0 defeat away to 1860 Munich, after other results went their way on Matchday 33.

While Bochum went into the game desperate for the points to stave off relegation, the hosts had plenty of motivation of their own: the Lions were keen to sign off in a high note from their last home game this term. The opening period was duly a feisty affair and although 1860 saw more of the ball, the visitors did threaten several times on the counterattack.

It was the home team that managed to break the deadlock though, as Yuya Osako latched on to Bobby Wood’s pass to strike the ball home. The match remained an open encounter in the second period, with Benjamin Lauth sealing the points late on with a well taken finish in stoppage time in what was his final game for the club.
