Leipzig - RasenBallsport Leipzig secured promotion to Bundesliga 2 after thrashing relegated Third Division outfit 1. FC Saarbrücken 5-1 on Saturday.

With just one round of fixtures remaining, Alexander Zorniger's side boast an unassailable four-point lead over third-placed SV Darmstadt 98, who will have to contest a two-legged play-off with the club that finishes 16th in Bundesliga 2 for the right to join league leaders 1. FC Heidenheim and RB Leipzig in the second tier of German football next season.

The destination of the Third Division title, meanwhile, will be decided on the final day of the 2013/14 campaign, with goal difference now all that separates the top two.
