Dresden - Dynamo Dresden kept their hopes of Bundesliga 2 survival alive, while Karlsruher SC retained their slim chance of earning promotion after both sides played out a 2-2 draw at the Glücksgas Stadion.

Rouwen Hennings handed fifth-placed Karlsruher the lead from the spot six minutes into the game after Romain Bregerie was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Dresden responded well to the early setback though, launching numerous attacks and eventually pulling level shortly before the interval, as Bregerie coolly converted a penalty at the other end following Jan Mauersberger’s foul on Mickael Pote.

Dynamo kept up the pressure as the game progressed, but were punished for their wasteful play when Mauersberger nodded Selcuk Alibaz’s cross into the back of the net. The home side were never going to give in, however, and saw their efforts pay dividends 16 minutes from time when substitute Zlatko Dedic’s volley rescued the Saxony side, who remain in the relegation play-off spot.
